I took a week of vacation in August of 2000 to put the engine in and get it
running. I probably put in a good 70 hours of work during that week.
Not much rest but very satisfying!

Backing out... |
|
After letting it idle in the garage, burping the cooling system, checking for leaks, etc... we backed it out of the garage. Karen was very brave to ride in it with me on this first drive!! |

Things were working pretty well after a couple times around the block. |

So far so good... |
|
We drove it for an hour or so with no problems. I remember being amazed at how hot things were. The exhaust, the engine compartment, but especially in the cockpit. Things were cooking! |
